Independent consumer-credit research
See what AI recommends for real consumer-credit decisions.
One financial situation. Multiple leading AI platforms. One transparent consensus.
We submit the same carefully defined consumer situation across multiple AI systems, record what each platform recommends, and measure where the recommendations agree, and where they do not.

Independent AI consensus research
Millions of consumers now ask AI platforms the questions they once typed into Google.
The answers can vary considerably from one AI platform to another. Credit Consensus Index was created to study those differences systematically.
For each study, we define a specific consumer situation, submit materially identical questions across leading AI platforms, document the recommendations, analyze the reasoning, and identify the companies receiving the strongest cross-platform support. We don't assume that one AI platform has the answer. We measure the consensus.
Real questions consumers are asking AI
- What is the best credit repair company for collection accounts?
- What debt consolidation loans are best for someone with fair credit?
- What is the best way to rebuild credit after bankruptcy?
- Which secured credit cards are good for people who have been denied unsecured cards?
- Which service gives me the best access to my real FICO scores?
How the Credit Consensus Index works
A repeatable way to measure AI recommendation strength.
We start with a specific consumer need
Broad questions often produce broad answers. Our research focuses on situations that can materially change which company, lender, card, or service may be appropriate.
- Too broad
- Best credit repair companies
- More useful
- Best credit repair companies for consumers with multiple collection accounts
We ask multiple leading AI platforms
The same core research question is submitted across the AI platforms included in that study. We do not combine the responses into a single synthetic answer before analyzing them. Each platform gets its own vote.
- Companies and products recommended
- Recommendation order
- Reasons given for the recommendation
- Warnings, limitations, and eligibility considerations
- Sources cited by the platform when available
We measure agreement and disagreement
When several independent AI platforms repeatedly recommend the same company for the same consumer situation, that agreement is meaningful. When the platforms disagree, that is meaningful too.
- Recommendation frequency
- Cross-platform coverage
- Ranking position
- Strength of recommendation
- Situation-specific fit
Material financial facts receive human review
AI can make mistakes, and that matters more when the subject involves a person's money, credit, or financial future. Material factual claims are reviewed against available authoritative sources whenever practical.
- Fees and APR ranges
- Credit and debt requirements
- Credit bureau reporting
- Security deposits and refund policies
- State availability and cancellation terms

Start with the consumer situation, not a universal “best.”

Most comparison sites begin with products. We begin with questions.
A consumer doesn't wake up wondering which company deserves the #1 position on an affiliate comparison table. They have a problem, and those problems are what our research is designed to study.
- I have seven collection accounts. Who can actually help me?
- My credit score is 625 and my credit cards are killing me with interest. What are my options?
- I just finished bankruptcy. How do I rebuild without getting trapped in terrible products?
- I have almost no credit. What accounts can I realistically get approved for?
- I keep seeing different credit scores. Which one actually matters?
Original research
Built on original research, not a single AI answer.
We don't ask one model to generate a "best companies" article and publish the response. Our methodology creates a dataset from multiple independent AI responses and analyzes the resulting recommendation patterns.
A recommendation appearing on one platform may be interesting. The same company appearing repeatedly across several independent platforms for the same narrowly defined situation is a different kind of signal. We call that AI consensus.

Commercial relationships do not set the ranking.
Credit Consensus Index may earn compensation when readers click certain links, submit information, or purchase products or services. That compensation does not determine which companies appear in our underlying AI research. The AI platforms are queried before affiliate relationships are considered.
A company can
- Rank highly without paying us
- Appear in our research without an affiliate program
- Rank poorly even with a commercial relationship
- Disappear from a ranking if future research no longer supports it
Where a commercial relationship exists, we disclose it. Our goal is to keep the research layer separate from the monetization layer.
Research changes over time.
Companies change. Products change. Pricing changes. AI platforms update their models, search systems, training data, retrieval sources, and recommendation behavior.
For that reason, every Credit Consensus Index study includes a research date or update date. We periodically rerun research so readers can see whether consensus has strengthened, weakened, or shifted toward different companies. Historical changes can be as important as the current ranking.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Credit Consensus Index?
Credit Consensus Index is a research publication that studies what leading AI platforms recommend for specific consumer-credit situations. Rather than relying on a single AI response, we compare recommendations across multiple platforms and measure agreement and disagreement.
Does Credit Consensus Index choose the companies before running the research?
No. Our research begins with the consumer situation and the research prompt. The AI platforms determine which companies and products appear in their responses. Companies that receive sufficient cross-platform support may then receive additional research and situation-specific analysis.
Does the company that pays Credit Consensus Index the most rank first?
No. Commercial relationships do not determine the underlying AI consensus. Some companies appearing prominently in our research may have no commercial relationship with Credit Consensus Index at all.
Are AI recommendations always accurate?
No. AI platforms can provide outdated, incomplete, inconsistent, or incorrect information. That is one reason we compare multiple platforms instead of relying on a single answer. Material product and financial facts are also reviewed against available authoritative sources whenever practical before publication.
Is Credit Consensus Index giving me financial or legal advice?
No. Credit Consensus Index publishes general educational information and research. The information on this website is not individualized financial, credit, tax, investment, or legal advice. A product or strategy that is appropriate for one consumer may be inappropriate for another.
Better questions, better decisions
Better credit decisions start with better questions.
There may not be one universally “best” credit repair company, consolidation loan, secured credit card, debt relief provider, or credit monitoring service. The better question is: which options are consistently recommended for someone in my specific situation?
